"Life has its own hidden forces which you can only discover by living."
So I'm pretty sure that we are all glad to see the back of the storms that have battered our country recently. It might not have really been the worst storm in History, but it's nice to see that we can get about the place again, without the aid of a rescue boat!
It's nice to come home to see news programmes reporting on other issues other than rain, flooded homes and battered coast lines. For a good while it seemed that there wasn't anything else going on in the world. The affects of the weather were massive. Homes ruined, sea fronts destroyed, it was a bad time for a lot of people and I suppose, when we think of storms hitting us, we don't exactly think of them brining us anything positive. Right?
Exactly what I thought. How can there be anything positive about a storm? It always ends in a disaster! But that's not always the case.
As I sat down watching the news from today, a story was shown about some amazing discoveries that had been made recently- all due to the storm. In Wales, UK, we have a lot of shoreline. It runs around the whole of our country and our coastal towns really took a beating during the storm. Disaster! But because of the high seas and nature of the storms that hit, a number of discoveries have been made on our beaches.
The first is a 200 year old canon, washed up and discovered on a beach. - Read Here
As well as a series of Ancient Historic Trees - Read Here
All great historic finds, discovered because of the storm!
And so I end with this thought.
Very often when storms hit, we only see the negative affects. We look at the damage that they do and don't realise what good they can often bring. If it wasn't for the storm that hit recently, these great historic discoveries would never have been made. They would have been left to lie undiscovered.
Often in life we go through times that we could describe as "storms". Those difficult patches we go through that we find tough to battle with. Those times when nothing seems to be going right and you can't see your way out.
But truth is, very often, storms don't just bring disaster, they bring discovery!
The storm was a disaster. But brought some amazing discoveries.
Whatever the storm is you are going through in life remember, storms don't just bring disaster, but they can bring you discovery. It's only when you go through the "storms" of life that you discover who you are, what you strengths are, and how you can be a stronger, better person!
So the next time you are going through a storm remember, yes it could bring disasters, but it could also bring you the greatest of discoveries.
