Be Yourself!

"The World is Full of Copies, but desperate for originals "

I don't know about you, but very often the news seems to be filled with random stories. Stories that maybe we don't think of as being important, but I guess are for some people. Tonight was, again, one of those times when the news reported a story that wasn't particulalrly groundbreaking, but I'm sure important none the less.

As a country that are part of the EU we very often have to meet certain guidelines and laws in order to trade and carry out business in Europe. As part of that trade, especially exporting goods, it's very common for certain products to be given a "protected status". A status that means that nowhere else in the world can a product be made. For example, Champagne has to come from Champagne, Parma Ham has to come from Parma ( I think that's a place?!) and so on.

Today, it was agreed that Salt which comes from Anglesey, the small island off the coast of Wales, was given protection status for it's salt. Anglesey Salt, only in Anglesey. Ok, so it's not the most exciting food substance in the world, but if it's good enough for Barak Obama, then it's good enough for me!

There were countries all across the world who had been selling salt as being from Anglesey but really it wasn't. Trying to make something it wasn't.

There are so many times in life where people try to sell things off as being something else.  FAKES! You only need to take a holiday to Turkey to find stores filled with items and products that are copies or remakes of originals - trying to be sold as something else.

So too can be said of many people in life.

And so I end with this thought.

In life, there are many times when it can be easy for us to try and be something we're not. There are so many people living lives that are not true to who they are. They are just like those different countries claiming to sell Anglesey Salt.

In life, don't waste time trying to live a lie. A copied life, a fake life. In every aspect of your life, be true to who you are. Live your life as you. Be you. You're the only one there is so be proud to stand out from the crowd.

You never know when other people will be calling for you to get a "protected status".
